There are days
type of work
This personal project came out of a desire to share about my experiences surrounding depression and loneliness. Through a series of illustrated comics, I wanted to illustrate the mundanity of how depression can manifest in daily activities. Using only 2 colors, I wanted to keep to a simple palette to allow for emphasis and draw readers to specific areas on each page.
Especially with the chaos and tragedy that occurred throughout 2020, creating these images was a cathartic release and a way for me to reach out to my community to express the hurt I felt alongside them.
After posting this series on my social media, I received many comments and messages from friends and family–even some new folks just coming across my account–who resonated with the feelings and emotions presented in this zine.
